Despite of the fear over the cyber security risks among IT professionals there are more than 70% giant businesses who are planning of transferring their business functions to the cloud.
A study that was conducted across Europe, Middle East and Africa region which was also commissioned by data center provider Equinix, revealed that about 71% of tech giants were setting up the arrangements to shift their complete operations to the cloud in the coming years.
However there is concern over the data security due to high profile breaches, but the survey showed that cloud adoption is on the top priority of the businesses.Also nearly 48% of the surveyed said that adoption of cloud based solution is one of the top two factors which will make impact on their business in upcoming years, second to cybersecurity breaches. Important point that came is about 53% said that cybersecurity breaches would have a pivotal influence over business decisions.
About 31 % think that cloud services providers are the type of business with which their organisation is most likely to connect with in the future.
Well, its not all over as the survey also revealed that regardless unpredictability to Brexit, about 64% of the major IT leaders in the United Kingdom believe that United Kingdom is one of the best place in the Europe to connect with the customers, partners and also with the cloud service providers.
In order to adopt the cloud based solutions, the study also found that about 17 per cent of organisations across Europe, Middle East and Africa are currently linked to cloud architecture, compared to 56 % those are currently using private cloud and about 42% who are using public cloud.
Managing director UK at Equinix, in a statement said that: “That 64 per cent of the UK’s IT leaders believe that the UK is still the best place in Europe to interconnect with partners and customers due to the UK’s flourishing data centre industry, despite political uncertainty, is testament to the resilience of the UK’s digital infrastructure.”
